滋賀県高島市にある、メタセコイヤ並木は、1981年に学童農園「マキノ土に学ぶ里」整備事業の一環としてメタセコイアが植えれらたのがはじまりで、その後、地自体や地域の人々の手により育まれて延長され続け、現在のこの雄大な姿となったものです。

Metasequoia trees in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, were planted in 1981 as part of the school children’s farm “Makino Tsuchi ni Tsuri Sato” development project.
